The COVID-19 is a viral disease that affects public health and huge economic crises around the world. Some reviews studies identified the importance of nutrients and polyphenols to combat severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) coronavirus (CoV) infection via reducing inflammation and oxidative stress (10-15). For example: vitamin C, vitamin E, carotenoids and polyphenols can interact with transcription factors, associated to anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects (10) and polyphenols has potential ability to against SARS-CoV-2 infection through the resulting host inflammation, oxidative stress and signaling pathways (12). Some foods might drive these potential associated with treatment and prevention of COVID-19: the consumption of green tea and black tea might support in prophylaxis and treatment of COVID-19 (16) and the consumption of tea infusion can enhance innate immune response to fight COVID-19 (17). However, inconsistent associations have been shown in other studies, such as no significant association has been found between polyphenol intakes and total antioxidant capacity in European adolescents (18). Since, there is no specific antiviral treatment or effective vaccine to against COVID-19, the exploring potential health of polyphenols during the pandemic of CVID-19 is needed.
